Hole in tree trunk right below ground level
Hello,
I found a hole in my ornemental Camellia tree that is right below ground level which was full of ants and mold. I killed the ants and scraped the mold off as much as I could and sprayed a tar-like material in it. The hole is about 6" deep and 6" wide and the top of it is at ground level. What should I fill it with to keep water out or how do I treat it? Thanks, Gary |

I have several Oak trees with a hollow spot that might cause it to break and fall. These trees are in an area around my house that are key locations one being the main shade over my deck. Removal is going to be my last resort. Has anyone had success repiring a problem like this? Thanks.
