    Hi Arthur...

The trick here is to push the cartridge in super hard and then get the clip started... then hit the clip in place using a small hammer or pair of pliers... will seat easily after that... ;)

Good luck and DON'T drop that hammer, OK?

I prefer to to open the stem so any air or water in the cartridge body has some place to go. That way I can push the cartridge all the way in.

I agree Harold, but even when fully opened I have run into tough times installing that copper clip into place, but good to mention it, for sure!

I had the same problem last week and as Mark says pushed the cartridge all the way in and uses screw driver handle and tapped it slowly and it worked, Thanks.

I don'no, never had much problem as long as I was smart enough to remember to open the stem. Sometimes I try to soak up or blow out any water. Granted it sometimes takes a little extra push to get it to seat. Maybe you guys are just losing your grip. What are you going to do when the eye site goes?

Harold said, "Maybe you guys are just loosing your grip"...

Here, you need to have a grip to begin with. In this manner, I have never attempted to ever suggest that I had a grip to begin with... :)

    Great stuff guys... always is!

I assume the problem has been solved with help or our Experts but just FYI: I apply plumber's grease on the cartridge then use short needle nose pliers to push cartridge inside in one motion. I also use same pliers to tap the U-clip in place... Milo
