When To Go To The Vet
My one and a half year old dachshund has had an upset stomach all morning. Whenever he isn't throwing up a white mucus like substance he is curled in a ball and shivering. It has only been for the morning, but I'm still a little concerned. When is a good time to head to the vet, should the vomitting persist? Should I wait a day or two?
I'm not positive if he got into anything, as I have four dogs and each of them has their turn causing trouble, but I haven't found anything around the house he could have snooped in.

Never let the weekend catch you with a sick dog and the vets' closed. With 3 other dogs in the house, I would be more quick to get it to the vet before what might be an infection spreads.

My daughter has a dachsund who literally hunts for lizards and frogs. Some of these lizards are poisonous - particularly the blue-tailed lizard. Every time Oliver gets hold of one of these "critters," he foams at the mouth and gets sick. When he bites the lizard, it emits some sort of poison which causes other animals to leave it alone. You might check with your vet to be certain, but I'll just bet your dog has gotten hold of a lizard or frog, and that's what has made him sick.

I have a well trained 6 year old brittany spaniel that is fixed. We recently got back from being out of town and she fell asleep early with my husband in bed. She wet the bed while sleeping.
