What model is your goodman? Single stage, or two stage. The two stage goodmans that we sell require the y from the thermostat to hook to the y on the contol board, along with one of the wires from the condeser, red or white. Then the other wire from the condenser hooks to the c, or common on the control board, as wmproop said. If you just splice the y from stat to the w from condenser, at least on the goodmans we use, the blower will not kick on to high speed, it will only kick on to med/low. You need to hook both the wire from the stat and the condenser to the y terminal on the baord. A model and serial number of the unit would be helpful to further assist in the wiring.
