    Release from prison
We have discussed this before in reference to other questions.

I went to the bus station today to pick up a gentleman who has just been released from prison. He served max time, so no probation or parole officer to deal with.

    This is what he has.

One white T shirt, one brown pant, one cheap black tennis shoe and the under wear he is wearing. ( they even keep the prison underwear he was issued in prison) so he only comes out with the one set of clothes he is wearing. And guess what every ex con knows he just got out, since guys just keep coming up asking him where did he get out from.

So he got a bus ticket to his final stop, and ( not even 100 dollars any more) but a debit type card, ( with high fees to use) and 50 dollars.

So after a telephone call from a pay phone using the card, a couple snacks at the bus depo and one meal at a fast food. He has about 25 or 30 dollars left to his name as he stood in front of me.
No tooth paste or tooth brush, no hygene items, nothing.

So as they walk out of the bus station, if they did not have someone to try and help them, what are they to do? Where will they sleep the first night ? Where will they eat.

He could not use my touch screen phone at first ( let him use it to make some phone calls) they did not have them when he went in.
He had trouble with the self check out at Walmart, had not done it for a long time.

No help in fining a place to stay, No list of shelters or list of food kitchens. No idea of how to look for a job, ( they have no phone or address to use)

    Hello Padre and Dr,

It's how you spell a nation in decline too.

I've heard of a few people killing themselves because they just couldn't handle life after jail and others committing crimes to get back in. There should be some program to help.
