    Monster Mom
I am sixteen and I am six months pregnant. My child's father is eighteen. My mom hates him and won't sign for me to get married and go live on base while he's in the army.she finds any excuse to keep us apart. I can't go and just ignore my moms rules or she makes everything worse. She's telling me that she is going to put him on child support. He pays for everything and I don't see a need for him to be on child support my mom is money hungry and finds any way to get money out of him. What should I do?

    What should you do?

Get a custody and child support order--because that's what you DO when you're not married and have a child.

Besides that, you should live by your mother's rules while raising your child until you are 18--when you are emancipated.

I would make sure before you get custody and child support from him, that he'd go to jail or not. He's 18. Your 16. He can get into trouble. In some states when they go in to take a DNA test they will look at the age. If you need money depending on the laws there where you live have him and your mom sit down and come up with an agreement. That's all I can tell you sorry. I hope this kind of helps:)

But yes, sounds like a good protective mom that is trying to help you from making additional mistakes. If in another couple years, he is still there and still being a father to his child, great. But for now, you get a custody order for your child and you get a child support order.

Well, good! At least one you you is being a responsible parent and thinking about support. Too bad that its not you, the pregnant one. When you have children out of wedlock, you ask for custody and support orders. That is what responsible parents do. You are an incredible example of why teenagers are too short-sighted to have children. You can't predict what he will do in the future, and if he was being mature about his parental responsibilities, he would welcome paying child support, and having a custody order that protects his rights.
