    B/C says I'm a twin
My birth certificate says that I am a twin. My mother denies it. I was born at home right after the depression. My parents could probably not afford two children. This has haunted me for many years, since I received a certified copy for a passport.

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

What does your mother say about what the because says. She can't deny an official document unless she claims a mistake was made. If so, you need to contact the hospital to confirm.

If you find that the because is correct, then you can try posting on any of the many adoption connection web sites, to see if someone else is looking for their family.

Sorry. This is my first experience with a blog. Mother did say it is a mistake. I was born at home so there is no hospital record. The only person who may have been able to help me is deceased.

Well then you still haven't experienced one. This is not a blog. This is a Q&A site. A blog is a site where a person (or people) express themselves on whatever they want to. This site is for asking questions and getting answers.

If it was a home birth it could very well be a mistake.

O.K. you won't hear from me again. I'm a senior citizen trying my best and don't need hurtful, rude remarks. We can't all be "Computer Experts." I hope you treat your grandmother with more respect.

I too am a senior. Scott was just letting you know that this is a web site, not a blog (two entirely different Internet thingies that are used very differently). A senior friend kept calling a blog a "blob" until someone finally got up the nerve to correct her and explain what a blog is. And I've noticed seniors are very visible on the Internet, on blogs and on Q&A web sites. You can tell which ones are seniors because they, rather than the texters, spell words correctly and write well.

I'm guessing that a mistake was made at your birth because of the confusion (lots of blood and some tissue, the later delivery of the placenta) that goes along with a home birth, especially depending on many people were hanging about and who filled out the because. Was there a midwife present at your birth, or did your mom deliver with help from friends or relatives?

Please also remember that a "multiple birth" marked on a birth certificate (twins, triplets, etc) does not signify that the other child survived the birth.

If it was NOT a mistake, then your mother may not have wanted to talk about your stillborn sibling.
