    Eletrical lighting hooking up?
    Connected drop light in living room,light has one brown wire which instructions say split and connect one to black box wire and one to white box wire and then connect ground wire,question is connected all wires but after about 2min.there is a pop and breaker trips.. rewired again and now bulb socket sparked!

    Look or feel the brown wire from the light.

    Do you feel ridges or bumps on one of the wire sides?

    Are there any other colors on the brown wires?

    No bumps,or ridges,and solid brown.
