T-30 Shower/Tub Diverter Handle stuck in old fixture needs to come out
I am replacing a TA-25A Temptrol diverter spindle and a t-30-kit temptrol diverter handle kit by Symmons. I'm replacing it because the spindle(TA-25A) was not diverting from shower to tub and I tried just replacing the spindle but still no luck. I read several previous articles that all said after everythings off and your left with the T-30 white plastic diverter handle, screw a lag screw in and pull it right out. My issue is I have a lag screw in and that sucker will not come out! I don't want to force it but I know this is not going to come out as easy as pulling on it, and I don't want to cause a bigger problem here. I'm hoping for a speedy response as its going to be one hot and sweaty memorial day weekend if I don't get this thing going soon! Please help me.

    Thank you

    Hi Andrew...

You shouldn't need to thread the 5/16" lag bolt in too far...could compress the diverter spindle into the walls of the valve and make it real hard to pull out.

In your case, I would say you just need to pull harder here...have a friend hold the valve body and then you yank the 5/16" lag bolt with a pair of pliers... should work.

Let me know what happens, OK?

I have a tub that is used a lot for my infant but the shower is not used often. Recently I tried to run the shower and found the knob (tub/shower knob) is stuck in the tub position. I've tried to force it but it seems as though it might break the faucet if pulled any harder. Any suggestions?
