Theft under 500$
I am an international student and I have been caught steeling from Macy's store, while I was in the USA with the Work&Travel Program, 3 years ago.I really feel sorry for that and I don't understand why I did it.This was my first and last offence.(In my country,I don't have any offences).I stayed in jail for 2 days... they charged me with theft under 500$. It happened in August, the month I had to go back in my country of birth. So I couldn't stay to "repair" the things I did. So,I went home... they definetely recorded me... and at this moment, I want to come back tu USA.To open a tourist visa and to travel... I am sure that at the USA Embassy from our country, they will not allow me to go to USA because I have a record... what should I do?please, someone tell me... to apply for a pardon, becauze I really regret it... or how to act in this case? I really don't know... Thank you in advance...

You will not be allowed to enter the US. There is undoubtedly a warrant out for your arrest - theft is bad, fleeing the country to avoid court is worse. You will be arrested as soon as someone in the US realizes that there is a warrant out for you.
You made your choice 3 years ago - that was the stealing, fleeing the Country and returning "home." Now you want to come back because, for whatever reason, it suits your purpose?
You are not eligible for a pardon. Before you can be pardoned you have to be arrested (basically).

Nooo... you didn't understand me... I was at the court... with the judge and with a lawyer... I'm not stupid to go home without going to court to see what kind of charge I will get... I was charged with theft under 500$... this was my verdict... I was saying that I couldn't stay longer after the court to to do something to fix the mistake, for example to work for the public benefit or things like that, in order to clear my record... thats what I was talking about...

Did you make a preliminary appearance or were you sentenced? I know you were charged.
What did the Judge order? You don't pick what to do to "fix the mistake." The Court orders what you can do.
If you were sentenced and completed the terms of the sentencing (which might have been a simple fine) and want to come to the US you need an Attorney in the US to take a look at the law and determine how to remove this charge from your record.
It may or may not be possible.

My question was - did you make an initial appearance OR were you sentenced?
It matters (or I wouldn't ask).

No, you were convicted. But what was the sentence? So many weeks, months, years in jail? Fine? Community Service? Probation?
And did you finish that sentence?
