    Why my refrigerator leaks the water at the bottom
    Hello all,

    Today, I just realize that my refrigerator has sound of dropping water. Then I open my freezer and then I saw some water dropping from the top to a hole at the bottom of the freezer.

    Question 1> Is it a problem? Because I can see some water leaking outside the tray.

    Question 2> I don't use refrigerator to produce ice or filter water, can I close the water valve at the back of the refrigerator. Will this damage the product?

    Is there a tray at the bottom of the refrigerator that is collecting water that drips down?

    @Wondergirl,

    Yes, there is a tray. Most of the dropping water falls into that tray with a hole in the middle. But some of them spill out.

    Another question is whether I can shutdown the water valve at all because I don't use the water dispenser and use the refrigerator to produce ice cube.

    Thank you

    Is that a drain hole in the middle of that drip tray? If so and if it's clogged, clean it out so water can drain. (more after you answer)

    @Wondergirl,

    I am not sure whether it is clogged. But, can you give me some instruction on how to unclog that hole?

    Also, I only see one fresh water pipe feed into the refrigerator. So how does those water inside the hole move out of the refrigerator?

    Thank you

    If the hole is clogged, there will be gooey gunk clogging up surrounding the opening. Clean that out with a paper towel (DON'T push it down into the hole, but lift it out and throw it into the trash). The water that goes down that little drain will collect in a pan below it and will evaporate. Your refrigerator must be level for this to work.

    Check the drain every few months and keep it free of gunk.
