How do I take away his rights?
Hi, my name is marie and I have a 3 yr old daughter. I want to know how I can take away his rights if he as any. We were never married and his name is not on the birth ceritficate. When I was about 4 months along he was put in jail for child melastaion and had not helped me in any way to support her and I don't want his help I just want him out of our lifes for good.I feel if I were to put ad in paper he would just fight it to make trouble. What can I do to keep him from my daughter and to have his rights taking away without him poping up to start stuff?

First, it's a good idea to browse around a bit before posting. You might find other questions similar to yours that will help you. Had you done so, you might have found this sticky: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/family...st-116098.html

Second ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Being convicted for child molestation may be sufficient grounds, but I would still suspect a court will say that right now he has no rights since he hasn't been identified as the father. So there are no rights to take away. Definitely, the court would require that he be confirmed as the father before taking any action.

What I would do is wait until he tries for rights. If he shows up you do not have to let him see her. He would have to go to court to establish his rights. At that point you can argue that his sex offender status is enough to terminate his rights.
