    Drain in Corain sink
    We have a Corian intergral sink with the overflow. For some reason we are getting a odor from the drain. My husband wants to fill up the hole in the drain and fill up the hole in the overflow. The holes in the drain is collect water and it is not be wash out when we pour water down the hole. Help!

    There may be couple of problems. Both are related to the drain assembly.

    1. Wrong drain. Installed drain should have overflow holes in it. Try to remove pop-up and see inside if you see large slots right below the drain collar. Those holes are there to drain overflow water. If you don't see any then you will have to purchase new drain assembly and install it.

    2. Plugged overflow holes in drain. Here we are talking about the same holes. Sometimes happens that plumber uses too much Plumber's Putty and as he tightens up the drain putty squeezes itself into the overflow hole blocking it in the process. If blocked than you can take piece of wire and poke hole through it.

    I am enclosing 2 photos to better illustrate my point. First drain has NO HOLES under the collar, the second photo is the correct drain WITH large HOLEs.
