How can I resolve my issues with fines in Pennsylvania from Florida?
OK.november 2010 I was at a party at a friends house and there was some drinking going on.my friend got into a huge argument with his mom and it all started to blow up.I stepped in to help because my friend was getting real disrespectful with his mother.but then me and my friend start fighting because he thinks I'm choosing sides.but he has me in the chokehold an what not.doesnt let go so his step father steps in an helps.so he lets me go.cops come and cite me and his step father.after I get threatening letters from the district court demanding me to pay 40 dollars which I didn't know was collateral so I plead guilty to get them off my back.so comes our court date the judge dismisses the case because my friend doesn't show up but I still have to pay my fine.aint that something.but before the whole incident I was planning to move to Florida and haven't finished paying my fine.I know I have a warrant but I want to know how to settle it with not having to make a trip back to Pennsylvania... any advice?

Actually how or why do you "know" you have a warrant, did you run a background check and a warrant showed up ?

I doubt if for a fee after a case was dismissed, that a warrant is issued,

So first my suggestion is ask or find out what or if there is a warrant.

If there is a warrant, there is nothing you can do but go and turn yourself in, and/or arrange bail for the same time you do.
But most likely there is just money owed and you call and arrange payment

Call the clerk of the court and ask how much the fine is. Also ask whether paying that amout will resolve the matter. Send a check for that amount. Call the clerk again for confimration that they received the check and ask for something in writing disolving the warrant and dismissing the case.

What was the charge against you? How much was the fine? Have you checked to see if there is a warrant against you? You should not have to make a trip back to PA, just get in touch with the clerk of the court there and ask them what they have on file for you. Then, proceed from there, explain your situation, and they may be more than willing to work with you.
    Good luck, and God Bless.
