    Someone made me an offer to perform work on my roof in the amount of $5000.00. I asked when he could start, and he advised me he could start the following Monday. My response to him was "that seems fine" I never actually told him to do the work. Is this a contract?

    Did this person propose the roof repair himself, or did you seek him out?

    Five thousand sounds a little high. What needs to be done?

    I'm guessing he'll show up Monday with a formal contract in hand.

    This person was doing the work himself. He is preparing my entire roof. He showed up on Monday and began to do the work. I was not home at the time.

    He first approached you? You got no other estimates from other roofers?

    "Preparing" your roof means what?

    How soon will he finish? Has he asked for money yet? How will you know he did a good job?
