    I changed the gas valve and thermocuple and it still won't light. What's next?

    WHY did you change out those parts?


    Start by taking the cover off the burner compartment of the furnace. Turn the thermostat up and carefully observe the sequence of events that take place. Report that sequence here.

Today I tried to replace a ceiling fan to a light fixture. I connected the black to black white to white and copper to ground. I have a red wire that I don't know what goes to. The light now will not turn off. Should the red wire be connected to something?
