I need answers from the dept of human services. How come they will not help me?
I was receiving help - daycare, food stamps, cash assistance while receiving no income on maternity leave. Now, I have lost my house because the state denied me so I have been evicted, they have cut off my daycare I have to pay the full week's tuition, and my food stamps are just enough to feed my son. Only when I called my worker and told her I was homeless, and a letter was written to her from a third party about how it is ridiculous that I am homeless and offered no help at all, did I get a phone call telling me to call her back. I work a Monday through Friday 9-5 and call every other day leaving voicemails to no avail. I call her and her supervisor. I am currently couch hopping because my job covers the rest of my food, bills, and all of daycare.
I am able to pay rent, but need the daycare assistance to obtain enough for any kind of security deposit. Why is this and how can I change it? Suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

Do are you working now, when were you on maternity leave ?

What was the grounds for denying your claim, too much income ? Other issue or reason

I am working. My son was born in march of last year. The grounds for denial of my house was not affordable to me, I was turned away for "not complying w/ child support" but my child support worker has not answered my voicemails. I was apparently denied in November for childcare, notified late December. When I called my dhs worker she told me she had pulled up my case on the computer in front of her and told me I was covered through mid January. I was assigned a new worker and she did not respond to my calls until I told her I was homeless and why isn't she helping me. I went to the building one day w/o an appt. spoke to 5 people in 6 hours until I got an answer. I was finally told by a supervisor there is nothing they can do. I do not make too much money, I am in sales and they just put a cap on commission. I called asking if there is another way I can get answers from child support, or what do I need to accomplish? No answer. I'm also looking for a higher paying job.

The only reason I found out I was denied because of child support was because my son's daycare blew up my workers phone and filled up her inbox. She told the director of the facility through an email. I went to a shelter but left because I feared for the safety of my son. We were to sleep in an open room and the folks there, though they seemed nice and on hard times like me, a few seemed unstable at best. Not that they could help it, they need help too, but I have to watch out for my child first and foremost.
