Should I put the child's father name on the birth certificate?
Im 3 months pregnant and my husband and I are possibly filing for a divorce. This is our first child. When I asked him if he wants to see the baby he responded I don't care. Is that mean he doesn't want to see the baby or have anything to do with it? I want him to have the right to the baby and be able to see the child. I do not ask for his child support, Im just happy to have a baby and it would be nice if he sees the child so the father will grow up with a father. If he doesn't want anything to do with the baby-Can I not put his name in the child's birth certificate? If this happens- would I be a bad mom ? I don't want my child to think that he doesn't have a father nor I was sleeping around with differetn guys and I don't know the child's father? Please help I don't know what to do.

If you are married at the time the baby is born or conceived the husband is automatically the legal father. It will be likely that you are required to list him on the birth certificate.

    Is he the bio father?

As for him not wanting anything to do with the child. You can't force him to be a father, but you can force him to support his child through child support payments.

Reading between the lines, I discern that you know the answer. Put the baby on the BC. The baby, and the baby's descendants, deserve this.

If and when you re-marry, and if you, your husband, and your ex agree, and at that time your new husband adopts the child, the new husband would be put on the BC.
