    Garbage desposal backed up
Last night my desposal worked---this morning I went to use it and a bunch of sewage-smelling water came up... it sounds like the desposal works and I have tried using a plunger but it's bubbling up when I use the desposal and the water is not going down (the water doesn't seem to be rising either)... anybody?

If the disposal is running and nothing is going away it is probably your line stopped up. It may be in the trap under the sink. Put a deep pan under the disposal to catch the water and take the trap off. If it is stopped up unstop it and replace and try the disposal, if this does not fix the problem the stoppage may be further down the line.

You have developed a blockage in the laterial, (horizontal),drain line in the wall. Remove the "J" bend from the trap and go up the trap tail into the wall with a snake. You will hit a bend about 8" in but work your way around it and you need only put out 6 feet more. Good luck, Tom
