    Backed up drains
We just bought our house and the home inspector passed the house, but as soon as we moved in, the dishwasher and the washing machine started to back up into the shower. At first it would drain out very slowly but now it won't drain at all. I've used declogging chemicals but they don't seem to work. Our house is a one story home with one bathroom. I'm at a loss as to what to do. PLEASE HELP ME!

You have a blockage downstream from your bathroom. The solution is to snake out the lavatory roof vent. Put out enough cable to reach the base and 20 feet more. Test by cycling the washer. This problem couldn't have been picked up by the inspector unless it backed up when he was there. Regards, Tom

While I was taking a shower last night, my wife flushed the toilet in our other bathroom and the toilet in the bathroom I was in started gurgling. After the gurgling stopped the shower would not drain. I used a plunger on the drain in the tub and it would not drain. Now the shower in the other...

Troubleshooting Backed up Drain issue [ 1 Answers ]

This seems obvious, but I have learned to never assume things. I am having problems with drainage backup to my Septic tank. The toilet will flush once, then the second time it backs up and some water will backup into the tub. The tub also backs up after showering for 2-3 minutes. It will backup...

Bubbling, backed-up topilet [ 1 Answers ]
