    My mother was with someone for many years she raised his child from 6 months as her o
    Wn she left the person and the child behind and I found the child and we have always been like brother and sister I went to go get him his living arrangements with his father are unbearable he is beat several days of the week he has already ran away twice and went back due to he couldn't support himself and his father said he would promise to do no more harm but now its not just physical abuse it is also emotional abuse he has recently came to my home his father hasn't even contacted me I call to see if he has seen him all he can say to me is he don't give a f--- where he is I tell him I'm worried and still it doesn't matter I would like to ask his father to give me custody or temp custody but I know his father won't because he receives money in food stamps and other ways off him I also know that the state may not be able to give him to me because we aren't blood related only by heart but I know I'm better suited for him he has gained five pounds since he has been here he has had several bruising/wounds that have healed although I no he needs physical counselling because he has anger and emotional stress on him I won't to take him in and help him get a better education and have more in his life what help or advice can you give me in which what can I do

    Yes, call Child Protective Services (or whatever it's called in your State) and report the abuse.

    You can always try to get custody IF you are physically, emotionally and financially able to care for this child.

    Your mother raised this child and is now out of the picture?

    Yeah her new hubby told her to cut off all communication so she did I searched for them for years I'm scared that I'll lose him to the state I have four kids on my own I'm n the process of buying my own home I take care of all my kids we survive on our own I just went through a custody battle and the state proved me fit to keep my oldest I know I'm mentally physically and emotionally stable than his father if I can manage to have a home and survive on ssi and go to school online why can't his father I just think the state will see it as he is black and I'm white I have no money for another lawyer I want the best interest for this child he deserves so much more than what he's getting and I know he will do better here and have an education
