    Checking account garnishment
    I have a judgement against me and they garnished my husband and I whole checking account and they put a hold on the account and his work check is going direct deposit into the account. I am trying to see what are my right on checking account garnishments and could they take all the money that we have?

    What state are you located in.

    Laws may vary by state so its an important distinction to know.

    In general they can freeze any joint account, and while it does vary, in some states a wife is responsible for husbands debt, but in areas where you are not, you will have to go to court and prove what money in the account was yours, proof of you putting it in from your income
