    Lease law in Las Vegas
If I was living in Las Vegas and am being threatened by my old apartment for breaking a lease can they garnish my wages if I live in another state. Even if I stayed for a full year and then left without giving them 30 days notice? They are claiming damages that were done to the apartment before I moved in. They kept my security deposit as well. Would I have to be notified of a hearing?

    Hello Guest:

If you weren't notified, go back to the court that issued the garnishment order and make a motion to set aside the judgment... Then you can get served and have your day in court.

But, I have a feeling, you'd lose since you didn't give notice and will have gained NOTHING for all your efforts... So, it's probably best to see if you can negotiate a deal with the creditor.
