    Lease Buy-out in Las Vegas
I am currently renting in Las Vegas, NV. When I signed my last lease I asked for a 3 month lease but was told 6 months was the shortest lease I could get. Reluctantly we signed it knowing we would have to buy out our lease. We gave a 36 day notice that we were leaving at the end of September and we were reminded we would have to buy out our lease. Today we got an eviction notice because our rent was late. Not only did we pay early because we were going to be out of town, but it's already cleared the bank. I called the office and they finally found it. They credited it to the new tenants. So they have already received money on my apartment. I also went to their website for some information and it clearly states on the first page that there are 3, 6, 9 and 12 month leases available.

I know in Illinois, where I am from, if you give a 30 day notice and the apartment is rented before you leave, the landlord can't charge you for a lease buy-out. Is it the same in Las Vegas or does someone know where I can go to find the answer? Thank you

I don't know anywhere where landlords are allowed to double dip. If they rented the unit already, then you are only responsible for rent until the new tenant takes over.
