    Ruud furnace lights burners than snuffs out
    When burners go out it creates compression on furnace door.

    Do you have one or two plastic pipes going outside? If two, one is exhaust and one is inlet combustion air. Check to make sure neither are plugged or froze up outside

    Do you mean like a boom sound lighting and turning off? If it makes a puff boom kind of sound when igniting it is most likely your heat exchanger is cracked.

We have lived in this house for 3 years without any furnace problems... this year we lit the furnace (and it stays lit), but when we turn the thermostat on, we hear it ignite, but then nothing happens... could it be a thermal coupling?
