Typically german shepherds, which are a breed of working dogs, reach adulthood in 2 years and should weight about 70 lbs. That really isn't much for a dog that large and you should not try to pack the pounds on him, but offer him good protein rich food if he is fairly active. He will only eat what he needs. I have never had a dog that is a glutton if he is fed properly. How much does he weight now, sydell ? Tick |

I have a similar problem. But my sheperd is 2 years old and I have taken her to the vet and she doesn't have worms. She eats like a horse but doesn't gain any weight. I feed her Iams and canned food. I'm at my wits end trying to get her to gain weight.. any help?
Some of his ribs are showing and at times he eats pebbles and passes them out in his stool.He was dewormed last Sunday and the dog chow he was eating has been discontinued and another brand chosen.Cannivites are also being given along with some tonic.
