Great site. Need your opinions.

My girlfriend of 6 months dumped me for being selfish and pushing her too much. She is clinically depressed and has severe anxiety. She said I was pushing her and making her feel worse when she was going through a time when she wanted to be alone. She has severe mood swings. She went to the doctor today and I broke down and called to see if the tests were okay. A few minutes later she texted me and said everything was fine but she needs a CT scan. I said I was happy everything was okay and said good luck on CT and asked when it was and said take care cause I had to get back to studying. She said the time when she has to go and asked me what I was studying for. I told her and she said she believes in me and that I will do fine. That was it. No calls. She won't call me but she did return my text so I don't know if that was a good thing. The first couple days I called and texted a few times cause I didn't know what the hell her problem was. But then I stopped. Is this a positive sign that she talked? I am moving on regardless but did I break the cardinal rule by contacting during the break up? I just did it to show her I am not really selfish (I truly am not, I just didn't know she was clinically depressed). I feel better and am in peace with myself cause I showed I cared and I do care. But was this unforgivable? Anyone see a second chance? Thanks.

Leave her to deal with her own problems is what I see. If you can't help and make her feel worse then I would be moving on. If she calls and with the information you now have about her problems then you can discuss it. Find out about clinical depression so you can make an informed decision how to proceed IF she calls.

Can you deal well with someone who has clinical depression and anxiety? Is that something that you feel that you have to put up with for her? Does it not bother you that she has psychological disorders? If you want to pursue something with her be advised that depression has a genetic component and if you were to have children with her you might be put into a situation that is uncomfortable.
