Why does the gas furnace put out cool air?
We have an older gas furnace and it simply won't heat the house. We were told it might be the power supply leading into the house so we had that fixed. Next we were told it might be the thermostat so we changed it out also. It shows the gas burning, the blower comes on but only cool air circulates? Is there anything else I can try?

"It shows the gas burning" What does that mean? Do you have central air conditioning as well? Did it ever heat the house or is this a new problem.

Call an HVAC tech to come out. If your furnace is more than 15 year old, consider replacing it You will spend more trying to keep it working that it is worth.

Gas furnace lights, goes off after a minute or so, then blows cool air [ 6 Answers ]

We just noticed this problem today, on the coldest day it has been this winter. Don't know if the cold has anything to do with this issue or not, but I don't think so after reading through the forum. The problem appears to be that our furnace (about 15-20 years old, Magic Chef/Comfortmaker Ultra II...
