Have you tried plugging the cable in?
Make sure it is plugged in on your computer as well as your DSL modem.

You will get the Network cable unplugged message when your configuration is not quite correct. I will assume you have a good cable and it is plugged in at both ends. Ensure that you have the correct cable as well, (not a crossover cable) Also, if you haven't already reboot every device involved, including any modems and or routers. Beyond that it is difficult to tell because you did not say what OS you are running. However, if you are running XP, and you have the two monitor icon in the lower right hand task bar, then you can right click on this icon and try the Repair option. (this may take a minute or two)

If at the end of these items, you are still having trouble then post back with specifics about you setup.: operating system, how many pcs, routers, and modems, etc.

Try reseating the ethernet cable. If applicable, try another ethernet port on the dsl router - if no change you are looking at a bad ethernet card or dsl router. Try hooking up another ethernet device to narrow the problem down to the router or the PC network card...

My electrician just installed new wiring in my house. It is of the aluminum wrap type. The roughing in was done and the cable left hanging down in the cellar.
