I am sure there are people who have gotten back with their ex's. I am sure some have worked out their issues and for others it just ended in misery again. I suggest you read the meaning of no contact sticky https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/relati...nc-510419.html. It is not meant as a way to make your ex- jealous or miss you because you don't speak to them. No contact is a way for you to heal from your relationship.

I have no idea about the books. I was just pointing out what NC was for you, not to get your ex back.

Instead of reading books on "How to get the ex back" get one about "How to be a better you", and spend the time improving yourself, and your life. You no doubt will find many areas of your own life that can be worked on, whether the ex comes back or not.

So yes, those get your ex back books are a waste of money because, you get distracted from the real issue of being the best you can be for yourself, and having a healthy happy relationship, with a happy healthy person. Look guy, I know you are really desperate at this time because of your break up. We all are during such traumatic events. But the ex in our lives is not the goal, the healing is, so we recover enough to see things, and people and ourselves for what they really are, and can move forward to better things.

You can fight the process all you want, and waste a lot of time with all kinds of tricks, and fall in many traps, but that won't bring you happiness, nor will it keep you're ex in your life. Get healthy first so you can make good decisions, and see better options, and opportunities to be happy than just be consumed by an ex that's doing her thing without you, and loving it.

To expand on what Tal says, no, they are of no use and in fact are an absolute exploitation of those who are at their weakest point. I fell for it and no, I didn't get my ex back.

The books teach you how to live for someone else. Everything you do you do for the sake of getting someone else back. What in the hell is the good in that? Do things for yourself, make yourself better, for the long run, for your life, your future, for your friends and family, but most importantly, do it for you. We are too easy to forget that we deserve happiness as much as the next person.

So the real question you need to answer is how can you be happy with who you are as a person?

    Yeah I did.

We separated a year later after we managed to hurt each other beyond repair.

If its not working, its not working.

Doesn't matter how much you love each other. If your not compatible or on the same page then its pointless.
