What would cause a toilet to bubble when flushed with a septic system?
Water seeps from around the base of the toilet and we have had the seal replaced twice. When flushed it always bubbles, gurgles, slightly all the time. Our system is septic and this is the first time we have had this type system.

A bubble of sewer gas indicates a blowback caused by.
    1) A partial blockage in the toilet branch
    2) a partial clog in the main **OR**
    3) the septic tank needs to be pumped.

Wax seals were never designed to contain the pressure caused by a back up. Your toilet bowl has a horn that extends past the seal and directs the flush past it. The seal and caulking the bowl seals odors in but it was never meant to hold back pressure.
    Good luck, Tom

How about when you do laundry or drain a full bath tub, does it back up? If so then it could be the septic tank. Overflowing septic tanks frequently mean a failed field, not cheap. Is this the only fixture that has an issue?

Hi, The upstairs toilet was not flushing properly so I called a repair man. I was not here when he came, but I talked to him on the phone.
