My Maytag Performa dryer is making a horrible screeching noise. How do I fix?
I have a Maytag Performa dryer that is 5 yrs old. A couple weeks ago it started making a horrible screeching sound when I turn it on and it comes and goes throughout the cycle. The dryer works just fine except for the noise which is so loud, you can hear it outside the house. Trying to save money and fix it on my own. Any ideas on which parts need to be fixed and how to fix the problem?

Hi... I wondered if anyone could offer any insight as to why my Maytag Atlantis Dryer (MODEL #MDE7600AYW) is making this awful high pitched screeching sound every time it is used... it is VERY LOUD! Otherwise, it works just fine. Thanks for your help... cindyc1910
