Arrested for vop 3 years after not paying fine in full
He was arrested yesterday for violation of probation they took him off his job. There was no warant for his arrest as his job did a backround check. He has not paid all his fines as was uemployed he also received a ticked for peeing outside which when he told his probation officer she pushed his papers at him and said he would have to move his case down town. He is behind on child support. He has not paid toward his fine for about 3 yrs. I don't know where to start attorney? Or let his butt sit there.

Not paying anything for 3 years ( was he out of work for 3 years ?) did he pay for a phone, for beer, for rent during those three years, if yes where did that money come from and who not toward the fine.

Behind on child support can also get you locked up

But the Probation violation would have been a warrant though the court for violation of his probation, it may have been issued that same day he was picked up, so it would not have shown before. Or perhaps some probation violation warrants are not put on the NCIC for some reason if the local court is going to pick him up theirself. I know when I worked with a PO department for a short time, we never entered ours unless we could not get them ourself.

    Hello P

Well, if you don't like him, let him sit... But, even an attorney isn't going to help much.. Since he's working, he could have paid something... He didn't even try. It's going to cost him..

Since he made no attempt to pay his fine in 3 years the Judge is not going to cut him a break on this. If anything he could have paid even $10 a month to show good faith but he didn't. And being behind in child support is not good either. I'd let him sit as even if you did bond him out (provided of course he has a bond) you'll just be out that bond fee and not able to recoup the fee. And should he decide not to show up in Court at all you will forfeit whatever collateral you did put up to the bondsman. He can get a court appointed attorney when he goes before the Judge. How is he supposed to pay for an attorney with no money - use your money instead?

Sounds like he's got his hands full for several months if not years the way he's headed.
