    Immigration Issues
I came to the us illegally. According to my mother my dad and her had work permits given to them by political asylum. She told me that back in 1998 she applied for me to be a resident and I received a letter with my social security number and a court date. Since my parents separated and went through a lot of trouble including being in jail, I never went to the court date. We never followed up with anything about my case and now she told me that in 2004 she received a letter of deportation for me. I was wondering if now there is anyway to fix my status.

Work permits are never open ended, meaning they have defined start and experation dates... and conditions.

Political assylum may or may not be permanent in nature. Or relavent as they had it, not you. With a pending deportation order... you will not have much of a chance. That alone prevents most applications from being accepted. Someone with a more specific knowledge will answer soon.

I assume you are meaning the USA. If it's a different country you will have to tell us.

This is a delicate issue and more info required. I would suggest you consult this matter with experienced immigration attorney ASAP.
    Good luck.
