    Civil Action Hearing Notice In Pa
    I received a Civil Action Notice today in the mail for a credit card. Sol is 4 years and last payment according to my credit report was August 2007, so I guess I'm still with in the time limits. My question is if I call and work out a payment plan or something before the Hearing, would the Hearing be cancelled or how would that work?
    I had a debt consolidation company helping me like year or two ago, but they were closed by the Attorney Generals Office and there went the 5,000 I gave them for my debts!

    Yes, call and negotiate a settlement - people have posted that the creditor settled for 1/3. Of course, that's cash right here and now, no payments.

    Didn't the Attorney General get your money back for you? I'd ask about that. In NY money was obtained from fraudulent consulting companies and their "clients" received at least partial refunds.
