Pressure cked OK... limit switck cked OK
No one seens to be helping me unless there all out this w/e... o well...
Rheem rgph 10eamer... 1000,000... 80%... 3 blimks and a 2 second pause says the limit is open... it cked OK with 0 ohms Pressure switch cked OK with 0 ohms Blower fan stays running unless I turn off the main power I have no spark.. direct spark ignitor, therefor I have no gas comeing on or no heat... Fan stays on with the a/c on also... Please help if you can... thanks... richard |

You may have more than one high limit. Look on or near the blower housing(not draft inducer, but main blower housing). Many times there is a limit that is resetable along with the one that resets itself. This limit will usually have a small button in between two spades/wires. Hope this helps. |

I think you may be looking at the transformer, not the limit I was thinking of. The limit I'm thinking of would have only two wires going to it, be roughly the size of a dime or a little smaller. |

If you can't find another limit, try this. Shut power to furnace off. Then go back to the high limit you tested and jump the two wires that are hooked to it together. If this solves the problem, do not under any circumstances use the furnace with the wires jumped. Get a replacement limit as soon as possible. |

One limit at the heat exchanger... 2 wires... its 170... 20... cked OK... 0 ohms 2nd limit on the blower motor size of size dime... 4 wires... held on w 2 small screws 47-22860-03 part # thank you Dinner at a all you can eat place if you get to balto md... tks... richard |

Okay gotcha. You will need to look at your wiring diagram on the inside of the blower door to see which two wires are in the limit circuit. Then you can jump them two wires to bypass limit for testing purposes only. If furnace works, replace that limit. Keep me posted. And yes, I'm betting this limit is your problem. |

I'll have to figure out how... to figure out how to figure out whitch 2 are for the limit etc... w and one of the blues are jumped... or purple... Let me know if this is right. You have two yellows hooked onto one spade. Across from that you have a white on one spade, and also the white is jumped to one of the blues. Then across from that blue is a single blue. If so, jump the blue/white, to the other blue. This will bypass the limit. If the furnace works now, shut it back down and replace the limit asap. Hope this works. I finally remembered that I have a rheem 80 percenter in my home, so I went a took a look and I believe I have the same limit as you. I looked at the wiring diagram and this is what I came up with. Jumping the blues will bypass the limit, its okay to leave the white hooked up when doing this. Good luck, and please keep me posted.

Yes... thats what I have... if I junp the be and w that's on 1 spd to the other b... should it be the same if I junp the single be to the w.. Because the w is already junped to the b All 24 volts? I'll stay on line till I get your answer... tks |

Wait, if you don't feel comfortable jumping, then don't. Its hard for me to truly trouble shoot this online. I would really like to be able to help you, but it may be in your best interest to call in an onsight pro. Wish I could be there to help, but, well, you know. Junping did not help maybe more then 2 have to be junped... I tried to find on line how to ck this switch... no results,, if your tired of fooling with me... I understand... thanks very much for your help... if you think of something else... I switched back to heat on the therm from air and went down to ck some 24 volt aeras... looking to see if the I F U was fried... when I got down there... the furnace was lighting as if nothing was wrong... so maybe I jiggled something... Of the preasure switch and the 2 limit switches... that put the furnace in motion... one of then is proubly working and not working at times... 2 other times last winter I had the some systoms but the furnaced worked after just jiggling around... possiable that one of the limit switches can work and not work at times..? Or is dead usually dead? Thank you for your help... richard |

Just glad its working now. I got to thinking about the lower limit and its just for the gas valve, I don't think it would cause the blower to stay on all the time. just shuts the gas off. And yes, limits can sometimes work and sometimes not, but usually when they are bad, they are bad. Hope it works for a long time to come. Take care. Sorry about the late response. |
