    Dissolving paper
    Hi,I am dealing with old transformer business in old transformers the aluminum wire insulated
    Of cellulose which is dipped in transformer oil,now I need to separate aluminum wire by destroying paper please give an economically cheap procedure to destroy paper without affecting aluminum please help me

    Well, I can think of enzymes such as cellulase which will make cellulose soluble but not aluminium. And since they are enzymes, they are not required in very large quantities.

    Or if you can find some bacteria or organism that feed on paper, I guess that it would work.

    I don't think you will find a workable chemical solution to your problem. It sounds like the aluminum wire is wrapped in paper -- you need a physical solution.
    Chop up the wire, put it in a cement mixer and let it churn for a while. Add water, gravel or whatever you find necessary to loosen the paper. Separate by the method of your choice.
