    Resubmitt child support request
I live in VA and I submitted a child support request a few months ago. Tried to work things out with non-custodial parent and I had the support order dismissed before it went to court. I learned it was a bad decision and now I want to know how long do I have to wait to resubmitt another support request?

If you withdrew the request without it being adjudicated there shouldn't be a waiting period to resubmit.

Ok, so if I went to court and decided in court to dismiss then there would be a waiting period?

That would depend on the rules of the court. ANY question of law needs to include a general local as the laws and procedures vary.

Why not just ask the court clerk. Was the case dismissed or just withdrawn?

What grounds did you use in dismissing the case?

Granting the other parens request to work out the support on our own and that they can and will now do everything to give the support needed without the courts order. That has not been met so now I want to go through with the court process again.

Your case should still be active pending the outcome of the mediation. (working out period). But if the other party isn't cooperating then you have the state set the amount based on the formula for your state.
