    92 civic won't shift into drive just stays in d3
    Shift good from d1 to d3 but won't shift into drive is the trans bad

    . Check for codes.

    . Change the transmission fluid.

    . Check/replace the Variable Speed Sensor (VSS).

    If the problem persists, the Transmission Control Module (TCM) may be bad or the clutch packs may be shot.
