    Grand theft auto charges
    Can you charge an ex boyfriend for grand theft auto if he takes your vehicle without your permission even if he has had permission before to take it? Keep in mind I specifically told him not to take my vehicle and said not to leave with it or I would report it stolen

    You can't charge him, police do if you report your vehicle stolen by him. Sounds like a domestic dispute and probably the way police will see it. Do you have your car back now ?

    You can make a report that he took the car without your permission if he does not return it within a short period. There is such a charge you can make - it's just one half step down from grand theft and is still a felony.

    You can report it to the police. It will be up to the police and the DA if they will press charges
