You can't charge him, police do if you report your vehicle stolen by him. Sounds like a domestic dispute and probably the way police will see it. Do you have your car back now ?

You can make a report that he took the car without your permission if he does not return it within a short period. There is such a charge you can make - it's just one half step down from grand theft and is still a felony.

You can report it to the police. It will be up to the police and the DA if they will press charges
