    How to have goulds jet pump turn on sooner
    Have a 1/2 goulds jet pump in my basement how do I set the pump to turn on sooner it turns on at 27psi I want it at 40 psi its shuts off at 50 psi which I like

    Most people would not do what you are suggesting, which is to end up with a 40 cuton and a 50 cutoff. That 10# differential will make your pump work harder since it will have to cycle more often. Still, if that's what you want to do, here is the way.

    Turn the large center nut on your switch clockwise several turns, then cycle the pump and see where it cuts on. If it is still under 40, then try a couple more turns, and keep "experimenting" until you get up to 40 on the cutin. You will then want to turn the smaller nut counterclockwise until you get down to a 50# cutoff. However, I think you will like a 40/60 so much that you won't want to go with 40/50.
