    How to troubleshoot a ignition control module in a 1998 chevy cavalier
    To whom this may concern I have a 1998 chevy cavalier with the 2.2 engine had to change the head due to a crack car was running great till then only 103,000 miles on it any way there is no spark to any of the plugs we have had the cranksensor replaced all fuses have been replaced well 500 dollars later still nothing is there a way to remove the ignition module and test it I k now there are 2 flat posts in the bottom of the ignition module for each pack which one is pos and which one is negative and how do I test it

    For what it's worth, AutoZone can test ICMs for free.

    Bench testing ICMs and coils is virtually useless, however. It does not simulate the heat that often causes these components to fail. I recommend replacing these critical and problematic components every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.
