    How can I tell which wire is the hot wire
    I have black wires coming out of my chandelier, how do I tell which wire is the hot, and which is the neutral?

    I was able to trace the ground wire, but the other two I am unsure of. I know that the neutral wire would typically have ribbing on it, but both wires are smooth.

    The neutral would be ribbed, the hot should have the writing on it. There HAS to be some way of identifying them.
