    Hot Water Question.
    Hey everyone,

Just need some advice on our hot water problem.

Basically we have a single element 250L eletric storage tank, only 4 years old and well known brand. Our problem is, over the last year we have had a few problems on and off where one day we will only get warm water of an afternoon then everything is back to normal again the next day.

This occurred every 2-3 months, and just recently it's started doing it more and more often. The TPR valve isn't leaking at all, I'm thinking the element isn't heating up the full capacity of the tank overnight hence only having a small amount of hot water?

I talked to a bloke the other day who suggested it might be a problem with the energy provider switching on the HWS at off peak?

    Thanks to all who respond!

    Andrew.

Are you sure there is only 1 (one) element ? This size heater ( 250 L / 62.5 gln ) should have 2 elements.

The symptoms you described are consistent with 2 elements present but only 1 working. Please, double check...

    Back to you... Milo

    Thanks Milo!

Definitely a single element. It has the specs on the side as well and states 'secondary element' with n/a next to it!

    That's it there actually.
