    Law in Maryland to remove a relative from your home who has never paid rent.

    The relationship of the resident is immaterial as a matter of law. So is the fact that they have not paid rent. If a person has established residence then they have to be evicted according to the laws for the area. You can go to your local housing court to find out what those rules are.

    If there WAS an agreement to pay rent and they haven't, then you can give them a 3-15 day pay or quit notice. They then have to pay what they owe, vacate or face eviction. If they don't pay or vacate, then you have to file with the courts for an eviction order. If there was no agreement to pay rent, then you need to give them a 15-30 day notice of termination of tenancy. Following that you file for eviction.
