I'm trying to figure out why I like to cause myself pain sometimes I'll cut myself or sometimes I make myself really depressed until I cry & I like to scare myself and put myself in dangerous situations can anyone tell me why?

For some causing physical harm to their body is way to maintain the psychological integrity and is the only coping tool they know to deal with the overwhelming feelings of hurt,pain or anxiety.

However,it is ultimating a self destructive tool.

For most the break through comes when they realise they can change and redirect the feelings in a more positive and healthy way.

Professional help is called for and therapy to get to the root of the problem.

Infection is high in self harming,and putting yourself in dangerous situations,where in the normal course of events the natural instinct is for self preveration,raises a red flag for the need of a professional.

I strongly urge you to speak to someone in real time,a doctor,parent,sibling anyone who can support you and help you get the proper supports.
