If you install a bathroom in basement can you vent lav and sink directly out the wall
My code (SPC) allows you to terminate a vent through the wall with permission from the Plumbing Inspector. It shall be located at least 10 feet horizontally any lot line and be turned to provide a opening upward. It shall be screened and not terminate directly under any opening of the building.. nor shall it terminate within 10 feet horizontally of any such opening unless it's 2 feet above such opening. Hope this answers your question. Good luck, Tom

I am changing because my washer drains to it and has over flowed a few times, but always flows poorly. There is no clop in line,as I have snaked, but didn't help. I will be using solid PVC. If...

Distance from Tub/Lav vent to main vent. [ 1 Answers ]

Referring to the attached sketch, The existing sink drain has a vent that serves both it and the tub. When I relocate my sink, it adds about 4 more feet of length to the distance between the sink/tub vent and the main waste vent. This effectively makes it 10 feet. I believe this is likely too far...
