Can I file a complaint or sue DEALERSHIP 4misrepersentation& misleading me?
I was online looking to co-sign a car for my sis. We found a car she was interested in and I submitted an pre-approved application online for that specific car. I then get a call from the dealership saying I was approved for the financing to come down and do paper work. I ask if I was guaranteed to drive off with the car he had replied yes you are guaranteed to drive off with a car today. The dealership is about 30 min away I get there thinking I was going to get that same car I seen online, but the guy had told me I would need to pick another car because it was re-called. I was bummed why would they advertise it online if it was re-called? So I then let my sis pick a car we test drive it, some how the sales man was telln me what about 2 cars? One for your sis and one for me. I told hom I don't think I would be able to qualify. He had stated "you wont go home empty handed" that I will be driving off the lot with 2 vehciles. I couldn't believe it. So I was excited and test drove another vechile my sis and I finally picked the cars we liked. Then we began to do the paperwork. They gave us free insurance for 30 days. Since we didn't have any. They tell me last minute that I won't be co-signing for my sis that both cars will be under my name with 2 different contracts. Didn't think nothing of it so I continued on we finally get done with signing and drove off with the vehchiles. Later on I feel like
The dealership was basically playing games or pulling some type of a scam. They basically let me drive off the lot with 2 vehicles and told me I was approved and financed for 2 vehicles which I never wanted 2 vehicles in the first place.I then go back 2 days later to see if I can exchange one of the vehicles for a bigger car because it did not fit me and the family. They were very rude that day and told me I don't have good enough credit.so I was confused from then on. I then go back 8 days later because they had called or text my cell phon nurmerious of times saying it's a emergency to come in today. That some paperwork to resign or something. I get there and I do not sign anything. They give me the run around and tell me to come back again which I did 5 days later then another time and another. After that I was getting fed up. Then they want to be complete s about the whold thing and told me that I need to turn in one car and blah blah blah that I was all of a sudden not approved for 2 and then other days I was. Couple of days had past I was never late on payments because I never got a payment statement nor wasn't financed supposively to make the payments.my contract stated payments to begin on June 9 2010 comes to find out all of a sudden my cars gone June 25 2010 I called the dealership and they told me yes we have "our" cars and that they were reposses I have questioned back and sayed "how can they be repo without a lender" he had ansewrd back well our guys not here you will have to speak with the gm on monday" I then speak with another person saying yes we have our cars and that our cars are back at our lot. I then called on sat asking to get my belongings and they told me I don't know where the cars are at and that the guys who got the cars are not here and I would have to speak with the gm Monday morning. I then called again Sunday letting them know I will be coming in to pick up my stuff from the 2 vechiles and my deposit Monday morning.they told me on Monday I would have to speak with a finance manager. I then arrive Monday morning to see where my stuff is at. They tell me to sign rollback paper work that was from a dmv that ncluded 2 of the same doc. I did not understand why I must sign these documents in order to receive my deposit back. The finance guys told me that I won't get my money back if I don't sign. So I walked out and didn't sign anything because on one of the documents it was stating that I in volunterly returned the vechiles which I didn't because they took it from me. I then get a call today speaking to the finance director telln me that he is no longer going to work for this dealership no more as of aug. and that he was returning my call bcause of this dealerships screw up

Ever hear of CAPITAL letters, I'm trying to read this post and its extremely difficult to be kind.

If I understand right... the financing never actually went through. If that's the case then any contracts were null and void as they WOULD have that clause in there that everything is PENDING all of that going through.

I can't see how you got pre-APPROVED for anything online... pre-QUALIFIED maybe... but without signatures and proof of ID, a dealer can't do all that. They can't preapprove you for anything without seeing proof of income.. running a full credit report on you, etc... and THAT requires your signature to do. Online you can say anything... if you can back it up later means everything.

How old are you anyway... having been through many car purchases over the lawst 30 years I've been out of college, it appears you don't have a clear understanding of the requirements and processes involved in an auto purchase. And more than a few misconceptions and assumptions.

So you fell for a crooked car dealership?? They offered to give you the money back and you would not do the paper work they required.

You should have walked out when they did not have the car you looked at online.

And pre qualified is not approved online, this is a well known scam term used often in lending

You I know I should have walked out now that I'm seeing all this for myself, but I didn't walk out because they made it seem there are other vechiles to choose from. So not making it more harder I simply browsed around for antoher vehicle no making it more complicated than it was. But for me to go through this unnecessary bull does not give them a right to do what they did and they will continue to do that to the next inasant person who is tryn to just get a vehcile and go home. Not to put up with this 2 or 3 weeks later doewn the road.

Welcome to reality and the real world. Its been going on since horses, donkeys, Camels and money or barter existed, which is thousands of years ago, its NOT something new.

And its NOT just car dealers... its everyplace, and everything... and its world wide.

You never gave your age but I'm willing to bet you are at least a recent high school grad... and at most fairly recently out of college. Most people learn this very early on... and why you should have taken a much older trusted family member with you... consider this your first and not last lesson at the school of hard knocks.

Just by listening to what you have said in this thread and how you said it I can see you were pegged for a sucker the moment you walked in their door.

You appear to have done ALL the wrong things in a transaction where negotiation is expected and typical. You don't buy a car in 15 minutes. Not unless you want to pay as much as they would like you to.

It IS their job to make as much as they can... thats how they make a profit, Rent, utilities and wages are paid from that profit. You wouldn't tell your employer "Oh, I'll take minimum wage", why would they do it.

I recommend until you have gained more wisdom and restraint... take a knowledgible older person with you that knows how the process of negotiation works. And listen and learn. Nobody is born knowing everything... and they don't teach this in school.

Get used to it because most everything works this way... In government, in business, everything is negotiated. The world is not Walmart. And even they negotiate... very shrewdly I might add. Most of the retail world is negotiation.. not fixed prices... If you've ever lived abroad you would know this.
