    Fla law judgements
Now that a judgement has been awarded against me... what should my next step be in FLORIDA to secure my assests from leins?? I am head of household, so wasn't sure what form to complete at the courthouse for avoiding Garnishments, I know I meet the criteria.. and what kind of form to request that the judge protect my assests since this was origianlly an unsecured loan, What can I do now, and how much time do I have?

The best way to avoid a garnishment or stop garnishment is to get together with the creditor and work out an agreement for what he is owed. Another, more drastic method, is to file bankruptcy.

They don't want assets, your assets aren't worth the same to them and they will not take the time to liquidate what they take. Unsecured, secured, they have been awarded a judgment and they will attach your bank account. So if you have any automatic deposits that go into your bank account, you had better cancel them and have the cheques sent to your home, or a box number.

If avoiding a judgment was as easy as filling out a form and getting a judge to protect your assets, then awarded judgments would not be an issue and creditors would never get their money.
